Stephen's Portrait

For 30 years, Steve Horner has only practiced in the areas of employment and labor law in Connecticut and New York. He has been named by Connecticut Magazine to be a “Super Lawyer” for 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009 for the State of Connecticut in the category of Labor & Employment law. Having both a Masters of Business degree and a law degree, as well as having previously been Labor Counsel for Uniroyal, Inc., he has the perspective of knowing “both sides of the fence” regarding such claims. Such experience enables him to quickly evaluate the many legal and practical “pros and cons” of job discharge claims.

Stephen Horner has more than thirty years of experience in employment and labor law, representing both management clients and individual clients.

A Juris Doctor graduate of Temple University’s School of Law, he also earned an MBA from Temple University and a BA from Dickinson College.

For the past four years, Attorney Horner was named a “Super Lawyer” in Labor and Employment Law by Law and Politics and the publishers of Connecticut Magazine. In addition, he has been rated an “AV” (the highest possible evaluation rating) by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory for many years. His professional affiliations include: former co-chair of the Stamford/Norwalk Regional Bar's Employment Law Committee, former Chair of the Employment Law Section of the Corporate Bar, member of the National Employment Lawyers' Association, member of the Connecticut Employment Lawyers' Association; and member of the Labor/Employment Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association.

Attorney Horner is admitted to practice law in Connecticut and New York, as well as before the U.S. District Courts of both of those states. He is also admitted to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Attorney Horner has given hundreds of speeches on a wide variety of employment law topics to most of the aforementioned associations and to many other groups in Connecticut. A syndicated columnist, he has written the “Labor and the Law” column that is currently published weekly by The Norwalk Hour and was published for years by the Wilton Bulletin, The Minuteman and other area publications. In addition, Attorney Horner has also been a regular guest on the Norwalk radio station WNLK, where he has discussed employment law issues.
